If the only time you talk about Jesus’ death is once a year,you’ve missed the Gospel completely.

Some people treat the cross like a holiday.

They bring it out once in a year, Easter Sunday.

Then spend the rest of the year preaching:

Motivation. Success. Breakthrough. Personal desires. But the cross? Silent.

Let’s be clear:

The death of Jesus was not an event to be remembered annually…It is the foundation that should be preached daily. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:2: “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”

Nothing else. Not trends. Not popularity. Not what people wanted to hear. 

The Gospel is not customer service where you give the people what they want how they want it, or what moves them. It is possible to move people and God is not moved.

What is the Gospel? 

Christ crucified.

There is no Gospel without the cross.

Hebrews 9:22 says:

“Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.”
