If you deny that Jesus Christ is God, you are not a Christian.
If you reject His deity, you have believed in another Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4), because the true Christ is God manifested in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
Jesus Himself warned:
“If ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.”
John 8:24 KJV
The phrase “I am he” is taken from the Greek where Jesus simply says, “If ye believe not that I AM…” identifying Himself with the divine name revealed in Exodus 3:14, which is why the Jews later attempted to stone Him for claiming to be God (John 8:58-59).
You cannot reject who Jesus is and still claim to believe in Him. Saving faith is faith in the true Christ, not a false christ of your own imagination.
