Members will leave your ministry not necessarily because you're not doing well or they're angry at you but because they want to know Jesus for themselves or see a greater light of Jesus somewhere else with someone else and some leave because they are offended .
I write this to you to let you know that you don't have to lay curse on any of your church member that leave your church or ministry. You don't have to fight them or wish bad things to happen to them simply because they're no longer with you, just let them go peacefully, probably their time is up together with you.
In the book of John 1:35-37, Two disciples of John the baptist left John to follow Jesus Christ and John was never angry at them nor angry at Jesus for taking His member . He was glad that His ministry point men to Jesus Christ and this should be the goal of our ministry that men will seek and see Jesus Christ.
When church leaders fight one another over members , that shows they don't know what ministry is all about. Ministry is not competition of how many fans you have or members you have but ministry is all about doing the Assignment God gave you to do faithfully and it doesn't matter if it is three people following it three thousand people , what matters is if you are following His will .
Disciplers shouldn't be angry at their disciples who choose not to follow you anymore . You should be glad that God gave you opportunity to impact their life for a while and it's time for them to move on . Let them go to where they feel led , where they are led to go , its possible that it is God leading them .
Finally, for members and disciples , when it's time to leave , you can leave with peace . Don't leave with grudges , pretence , hypocrisy, or fight . Leave honourable. If you have to leave a church with a fight , grudges and bitterness against leader , God may not be happy about such movement.
Don't leave a church to take the members to start your own church because you know better than the leader , such is a rebellion . Don't do such thing. The disciples of John left John to follow Jesus and they never speak evil of John to Jesus Christ.
They appreciate and celebrate their time with John the baptist as they move on to follow Jesus Christ. They didn't spread rumour nor Tanish the image of John the baptist to others but they were focus on their new journey with Jesus Christ.
So, if you have left a church or about to leave , probably a ministry group, leave boldly, with honour and with blessings. Let it be known it's God that is leading you to move on , if the move is from God . Make sure you're being led by God and not Gold .
Many leave for different reasons .
Some leave to seek for position, titles , platform or money but not for God . Unfortunately, they may happen to get those things but such path won't make them end well. If you're in such category, Repent and retrace your step back to where God placed you to be .
