David had been anointed for 20 years yet he wasn't rushing to be on the throne because His heart was not after the position but after God.

Many in the church are running for post , status, title, position in their church and conference.

When you see them working hard, something is in their heart. They want to be next leader, they want to be supreme head , their heart is after title not after God.

One man came to tell David that he was the one that killed Saul. He brought the crown to David , thinking David will reward him and throw party but He was killed . 

David wasn't after crown. He was not manipulating anything to be king even after he knew that he was destined to be king. He wanted the will of God at the right time . He had opportunity twice to kill king Saul, but he won't touch God's anointed to enthrone himself . His heart was sold out to God.

What about you? Some of you will destroy the image of a leader just to become the next leader . Some will be so happy that their enemy died . They will share testimony how God allowed their enemy to die but not David. He mourn for Saul and Jonathan for many days .

Two brother also killed ishbosheth the son of Saul who was made king over Israel by Abner. They brought his head to David thinking he will be happy to award them, David was sad. He command his servant to kill them. 

David said, why will you go and kill innocent man in his bedroom? David wasn't glad or happy to say , yes I can now be king over Israel. His heart was after the will of God not the throne of Israel.

Brother, where is your heart?

Are you also after been a head

You want to be the SET MAN

you also want to be next leader 

You have been manipulating things quietly because you want the position. 

You have been seeking the position and the honour , the benefits but your heart have departed from God .

REPENT today, surrender your heart to God and seek first the kingdom of God . Look out for His will and His way.
