Did you know if you shout Hallelujah during Lent in C & S Church, it's a sin! 

People will caution you that ha

Say " Eyin oluwa" not "Hallelujah"

Not just "Hallelujah"

You won't dance 

You won't do wedding 

You won't be able to open house 

You will sit on the floor inside church 

And so on ...

But this are Traditions of Men not Doctrine of Christ!

Oh what about Jesus Christ

He fasted for 40 days

Moses in Exodus fasted for 40 days 

Elijah fasted for 40days 

So that's why we fast for 40 days in Lent 

Wait ...

Before you can start practicing something as a doctrine , ask if the Apostles practice it 

Read Book of Act of Apostles , Ephesians, Romans , Colossians , Galatians and check if it is was practiced in the early church in Bible , No it's not ! 

Fasting and prayer is biblical 

Lent is traditional not scriptural

No commandment for people to fast for 40 days yearly and sitting on the floor . 

In the old testament, the way of showing repentance is by putting ash on their head , sitting on the floor to humble themselves

But under the new covenant, it's not so

Repentance is not by putting ash on your head or sitting on the floor , it's by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yearly Lent cannot make you come closer to God 

It's a self effort and religious rituals 

It's like a tower of Babel building to meet God 

God had already come down in Christ Jesus 

Our self righteousness is filthy rags. 

Today, if you want to fast for 40 days , do so as led by the Holy Spirit . Some fast for 100 days as led by Holy Spirit not according to tradition . 

You don't fast so that God can forgive you under new covenant, you repent and confess your sins believing in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
