THE WILL OF GOD

🔰 Introduction

Understanding the will of God is central to the Christian life. In a world full of choices, pressures, and distractions, believers are called to walk in alignment with the Creator’s plan—not their own desires. This teaching session explored what it means to discern, live out, and submit to the will of God, especially in the areas of obedience, purity, and spiritual resilience.

From creation to salvation, Scripture reveals that God’s will is not hidden—it is revealed to those who seek Him with a sincere heart.

Teaching Highlights

🔹 1. Understanding God's Will

God’s will is His divine intention and perfect design for humanity. It was visible in creation, where everything was made with purpose, and it continues in redemption through Christ.

In contrast, human will is often limited or influenced by selfish desires. Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane—“Not my will, but Yours be done”—remains the ultimate example of submitting to God’s will, even in difficult moments. True obedience means laying down personal plans to follow God’s leading.

🔹 2. Living According to God’s Plan

While every human has been given free will, we are not meant to use it independently of God. The lives of biblical figures like Moses and the Israelites show the danger of disobedience and the beauty of restoration when we return to God’s path.

Jesus came to restore the relationship that was broken, making believers a kingdom of priests—people called to live purposefully, in daily obedience to God’s leading.

🔹 3. Holiness and Sexual Purity

Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:2–3
God’s will includes sanctification—being set apart—and this is especially crucial in matters of purity. Scripture clearly states that it is God’s will for His people to be holy, especially in how they manage their bodies and relationships.

Believers were reminded that Jesus lived a sinless life and modeled holiness. Walking in God’s will means pursuing purity, resisting compromise, and choosing to honor God in both public and private life.

🔹 4. Resisting Temptation and Loving God

True love for God is expressed through obedience. Jesus’ victory over temptation serves as our guide:

Desires of the flesh (comfort, appetite)

Desires of the eyes (material things, envy)

Pride of life (status, power)

To overcome temptation, believers must stay grounded in the Word of God. Earthly cravings are temporary, but those who do the will of God inherit eternal life. The call is to anchor one's life in Scripture, choose obedience daily, and walk in love and truth.

Reflections & Encouragement

Participants shared heartfelt reflections, emphasizing that doing God's will is not always easy—but it brings peace, direction, and spiritual maturity.

Even in trials, believers were encouraged to submit joyfully, resist complaining, and remain grateful. Special emphasis was placed on guarding the spiritual lives of children, as well as setting a godly example in daily conduct.
