THIS is what Lot didn't do that makes him lose all his properties and wife in Sodom and Gomorrah. 
He choose by SIGHT . 
"And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan” — Genesis 13:10

When it came to choosing a land to occupy, Lot went by his natural sight and chose Sodom and Gomorrah because the lands appeared luscious and bountiful. However, the truth is that just because an investment or decision appears to be good outwardly, it doesn’t mean it truly is good. 

He didn't pray about it before He makes decision. He just choose what He loves. 
Not knowing that sooner it will be burnt up.

What decision are you about to make ?
Is it about who you will marry ?
Or about starting a project? 
You don't need to always run to a prophet 
You can pray to your God and He will answer.

Lot wasn't a man of prayer . He never committed His decision to God but he choose what was right for himself. If not for the prayer of Abraham, Lot would have perished with Sodom and Gomorrah. But God remembered Abraham and spare the life of Lot .

Even with all the help of God, Lot didn't end well. His daughters made him drunk and slept with him and have child for him. Lot name could not be found among the heroes of Faith because He never had personal prayer life. 

Beloved, take your time and listen to the Holy Spirit’s leading within when making a decision, especially if you sense unease or people are rushing you.
