(Excerpt from Ministeration in IWO, Osun state)

 

People come to church to seek their glory not the glory of God .

We pray so much about glory (OGO) 

We desire glory but it's self glory or vain glory .

 

What we see as glory is a man with money

We see cars as glory 

We see wealth and properties as glory

Some see fame as glory

 

This is what we cry after 

We want visa 

We want popularity 

We want promotion 

We want financial prosperity 

That's what we desire and call GLORY!

 

BUT ITS A FADING GLORY! 

Infact, it's Vain Glory!

 

Early this morning, I asked the congregation that 

"HOW MANY OF YOU WANT YOUR GLORY TO OUTSHINE EVERY MEMBER OF YOUR FAMILY?"

 

Almost everyone raised up their hands 

They were ready for prophetic words 

Like " your glory will shine more than others"

 

I told them, that's why they won't see His glory 

Because all they want to see is their own glory!

 

In Exodus 33:18

Moses asked God 

"Please show me your glory"

He was not asking for fame 

He was not asking for popularity 

He was not asking for prosperity 

 

He was asking to KNOW GOD MORE! 

HIS REQUEST, LORD I want to know you

 

GLORY means WEIGHT OR WORTH, to desire to see His glory is a desire to KNOW GOD , His character , His essence , His totality. That was what Moses was asking for , HIS GLORY.

 

GOD'S GLORY IS THE MANIFESTATION OF HIS PRESENCE ! 

Anywhere you see His glory, it was the appearance of His presence . 

 

While children of Israel were complaining and asking for food , meat and what to drink, Moses was asking to know God more , to see His glory. 

 

In Exodus 33:1-2, God told Moses that His presence won't go with them but He will send angels that will take them to promise land and give them victory over enemies .

 

Yet, Moses wasn't satisfied with angels and their ministry. Moses wasn't satisfied with victory over enemies or getting to promise land without the presence of God .

 

He told God , If your presence will not go with us , don't take us further . We won't go anywhere !

 

The most important treasure for any believer is the presence of God with them.

Money will finish

Fame will fade 

Crowd will go

Only His presence can last till eternity!

 

So many conferences in our churches 

So many programs 

Yet without the presence of God 

Yes, you might have angelic ministry

You might have victory and testimony 

But God wasn't present. 

 

The children of Israel made an idol, they worship this golden calf that was made by Aaron, their church leader . 

 

Sin and Gods presence can't move together 

This was the reason God told Moses that His presence won't go with them anymore .

 

The people looked for a new leader, they no longer want moses . They want a new leader that will take them back to Egypt.

 

God told Moses , let me destroy this people and make your descendants inherit the promise. 

 

Moses could have grabbed this opportunity 

He could have become the new father 

There won't be record of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or 12 tribes , he could have make name and place himself as new head .

 

But Moses wasn't after position, He was not after status , He was not seeking self glory or vain glory 

 

He prioritize salvation of Others to personal position or status. He was a type of Jesus in old testament, Moses interceed for the people and prayed that God can remove his name from book of life than destroy the people .

 

This was the mind of Jesus on the cross , He wasn't seeking his own glory but the glory of His father .

He prayed on the cross, father forgive them for they don't know what they're doing.

 

We received salvation as gift because of the work of Jesus on the cross , for we have all sin and fall short of the glory of God but we received the gift of righteousness through faith in Jesus Christ.

 

In John 1:14, we beheld HIS GLORY, the glory of the only begotten of the father , full of grace and truth.

 

When Moses saw His glory, His face reflect the glory of God but it was a fading glory 

Under new testament in 2 Corinthians 3

We all with open face are beholding the glory of the lord and we are transformed from Glory to Glory 

 

The more we behold Jesus in His word 

We reflect His glory , His goodness, His love , His joy , His holiness in our world. 

 

Finally, when Isaiah saw the glory of God in Isaiah 6, the SERAPH were singing His Holiness and earth is full of His glory .

 

Glory on earth is the manifestation of God's Holiness. As servants of God we must purify our selves , Be holy as your father is holy so you can reflect His glory here on earth.

 

Many ministers of gospel but live in sexual immorality. His glory will depart from you until you seek His face and forsake your sins . 

 

I pray His glory will shine over our life in Jesus name .

Arise and shine , for your light has come and the glory of the lord will shine over you. Amen .
